Author Visit for Spiritualism's Place: Reformers, Seekers, and Seances in Lily Dale

Author Visit

In Spiritualism's Place, the four friends and scholars who produce the acclaimed Dig: A History Podcast share their curiosity and enthusiasm for uncovering stories from the past as they explore the history of Lily Dale. Located in western New York State, the world's largest center for Spiritualism was founded in 1879. Three of these historians, podcasters, and authors will be at the Woodward Memorial Library on Monday, July 6, at 6:00 PM, for a discussion and book signing.

Summer Reading Programs

Summer Reading Programs have started! You can sign up any time throughout the summer, and there is a program for every age - even adults!

Stop in today to sign up.

Oatka Fest Booth

Visit our craft booth during Oatka Fest. The tent will be located next to the Library's front porch.

The library and book drop will be closed during the Oatka Festival.

Christmas in July Book Drive

Donate the gift of reading to a child in need by bringing new (or gently used) children’s and young adult books to the Library. All donations will benefit the LeRoy Pantry & Help Fund’s Holiday Partnership.

Construction is Coming!

We have exciting news!! The bathrooms are being re-piped and renovated! While we're happy about this, it is a very big job and is going to cause some disruptions to regular library use. Once the work begins, we will be closing off the children's room to the public until the work is complete.

Programs will go on as scheduled, and we are working with the Wolcott Street School to find alternate locations for programming once construction begins. We will be moving a few of the toys and new books up to the Woodward Room on the main floor (formerly the Preschool Room).

We will also be happy to pull any titles you would like and have them ready for you when you come in. Don't know what you want? We can pull a selection for you based on theme/genre, etc. We appreciate your patience and adaptability during this process. At this time, we do not have a start date for any of the planned work. We will be providing updates as we get them. We look forward to seeing you this summer!

1000 Books Before Kindergarten

Families are invited to join the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program at the Woodward Memorial Library! 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten is a nationwide challenge that encourages parents and caregivers to regularly read aloud to their children. By reading just one book a night, families can reach the 1,000-book goal in three years and provide their children essential early literacy skills.

All you have to do is stop into the Children's Room to sign up, and we'll give you all of the materials needed to begin!
